It’s been quite a while since Mel Gibson has acted in a movie, ever since he took up the garb of the director. However, word has it that the actor has consented to act in a film to be directed by Hollywood actress Jodie Foster, with whom he co-starred in Maverick. Mel, who has turned down several roles in the past few years, has agreed to play the lead in Jodie’s movie The Beaver about a depressed man who finds solace in a hand puppet. This is Jodie’s third directorial venture after Little Man Tate in 1991 and Home for Holidays in 1995.
