THE BUZZ: Boo hoo: Ricky Gervais may not ever appear on the U.S. version of “The Office,” but wouldn’t you rather he directed his own comedies with, ummmm, the best ensemble cast in recent history? The details are just starting to arrive on this one (here’s a sort-of behind-the-scenes video), but I’ve purposefully avoided any indications of the story’s finer points, opting instead to wait — presumably — for the first trailer to pop up this summer. And I feel safe with this project being in the arms of Warner Bros., especially since they’ve handled all of Christopher Guest’s comedies, post-Guffman.
